The January Packet Radio Bulletin Check-In Net will start on Sunday January 21st @ 0000 UTC and close on Sat January 27th @ 2359. Please see the check-in instructions below along with any possible monthly challenges for anyone willing to give it a try. A list of current check-ins are available at the link below. https://www.qsomap.org/QSOmapProduction/qsomapforQRZ.php?call=n3mel INSTRUCTIONS: Check-in format Address: SB PKTNET@USA Subject: Name, Town/City, State & BBS you are using. Body: Your answers.. This month we will be asking a few questions for both the sysops and end users. SYSOPS: 1. Do you forward with RF or AXIP or Both? 2. If RF what modes do you offer? 3. If RF what states do you forward into? The questions are being asked to measure how effective RF forwarding is. If 3 stations are sending the same messages into the same state and nothing into other states it really does not make sense to duplicate traffic just to watch it go (although its way cool to watch packet work). There is a small group here on the East Coast that would like to get Packet Radio back into the fold of EMCOMMs. As most EMCOMMs should go, it should be using RF and not the internet. END USERS: 1. Are you using RF to connect to your local? 2. (assuming you are) what bands do you use? 3. What modes are you using? EVERYONE: 1. Is there an interest in taking Packet Radio back to EMCOMMs in a more effective way? 2. Would you like to be part of the group working to move Packet Radio effective back into EMCOMMs? The group here in the east has decided that are group communications will be using packet messages, there will be no io groups. We will be setting up a web site at www.depn.net for progress posting. Looking forward to all your bulletin replies starting next Sunday the 21st. -- 73 de Glenn N3MEL FRNPA 1st Responders Network of Pa "Keep The Packets Moving" Packet : n3mel@n3mel.#epa.pa.usa.noam Mesh : n3mel@n3mel-mailhub.local.mesh Winlink: n3mel@winlink.org Never Forget 9/11 (343) Message Sent Via N3MEL BBS Using Thunderbird.
